The stand is located in the Deer Creek Hills Preserve near the eastern boundary. The plot is ~200 m from Michigan Bar Road in a shallow draw. The plot is about 600 m north of the very large blue oak that can be seen from the road (and on the air photos) near the southeast corner of the property. The stand is dominated by Layia fremontii and has abundant Triphysaria eriantha. The stand includes both banks of a shallow intermittent seep/creek. The plot is on the southern bank of the creek.
